Spring Session

Week of May 18- week of June 22

“Joy is an act of resistance.” –Toi Derricotte

In collaboration with The Clay Project, Art in the Garden is creating a community mural to bring people together and experience joy. The mural will be a mosaic of colorful clay pieces participants make.

Enroll HERE

HOW IT WORKS: Each week, enrolled families will pick up a clay kit from Borland Garden to take home. Through virtual classes, The Clay Project leaders will teach you how to create a mosaic out of clay and provide a virtual space to be together and meet new friends. The whole family is encouraged to join the classes. When restrictions are lifted, we will plan the building of the mural at Borland Garden. We hope that you will join us for this beautiful collaboration!

INCLUDES: Clay, glazes, four virtual classes and access to recordings, and The Clay Project YouTube videos. *The clay pieces you create will be fired in the kiln and ready for pick up in Borland Garden the week of June 29. Optional: Free weekly bagged lunches for your family.

WHERE: Borland Garden is located in East Liberty at the corner of Black Street and North Beatty Street, beside the Obama School.

INCREDIBLE TEACHING ARTISTS: Sandra Moore, Kamryn Randall, Shawn Terrell
